The Adelaide Hotel was born at the hands of D. Adelaide Ribeiro, with just four rooms, a kitchen, and an immense desire to provide a better life for her family. Through hard work, dedication, and an ever-present smile, she transformed a simple guesthouse into a landmark destination in Gerês.

Today, we continue to honor this essence—a family-run hotel where every detail is thoughtfully designed to make you feel at home, far removed from the impersonality of large hotels.

Where it all began: the soul of Dona Adelaide

The Adelaide Hotel began with just four rooms, a kitchen, and an immense desire to care for others. That's how Mrs. Adelaide Ribeiro started, with hard work, dedication, and a heart always open to those who arrived.

Originally from Gerês, he understood better than anyone the importance of hospitality. With an easy smile and admirable strength, he transformed a small guesthouse into a space that continues to welcome generations today.

More than a hotel, it created a home. And that essence remains to this day in the way we welcome you, in the details, in the home-cooked food, and in the care we give you in every moment.

The location is excellent, and the staff are very friendly, attentive, and helpful—especially Mr. Carlos. A special thank you goes to Mr. Carlos—whom I truly appreciated—for his care, friendliness, and thoughtfulness! A huge thank you to everyone who welcomed and hosted me so wonderfully! The breakfast was very good, and the cleanliness was impeccable; I have absolutely nothing negative to point out—quite the opposite! I highly recommend this accommodation.

The room's balcony was very large, and everything in the room was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was good, with a wide variety.

The only aspect we didn't like—and didn't realize before booking our stay—is that the pool is not located at the hotel.
